  用国际最先进的基因克隆、基因表达和定向进化技术服务于生物技术产业

基因操作技术是现代生物产业发展的动力。研究室发明的基因克隆新技术简化了操作过程并大大提高了获得新基因的成功率,这项技术已经产生试剂盒为国内外科技工作服务;该研究室利用热休克启动子构建的新型大肠杆菌基因表达体系,可以使商品蛋白的产量提高几倍至十几倍;该研究室还发展了构建基因随机突变文库的新方法及与其配套的试剂盒,为蛋白质分子的定向进化提供了最大的方便。相关技术申请了12项国家或国际发明专利,其中7项已获授权。利用这些技术研发的木聚糖酶、葡萄糖异构酶等,酶产量超过国际最高水平。

Advantages of the novel gene manipulation techniques

The gene manipulation techniques are powerful for enhancing the growth of modern bio-industry.  Research group has developed a series of novel techniques for gene cloning, gene expression, and mutant library construction. In comparison with traditional methods, new gene-cloning technique offers a very high efficiency in new gene hunting. The novel gene expression system gives a production of several times higher than those given by the other expression systems. Shao’s group has also greatly simplified the procedures for the construction of mutant library. Related techniques have been filed into 12 patent applications. By using these techniques, the highest productions have been obtained from genes encoding extreme thermostable xylanase and glucose isomerase.

    JiangSu Province Engineering and Technology Research Center for Microbiology Resource industrialization, Nanjing Normal University, was founded as a center for applied research and development. The mission of center is serving for national economic development. Major research interests include microbial pharmaceutical and microbial transformation for pharmaceutical synthesis, technologies of agricultural microbiology and environmental engineering, technologies for biomass degradation and renewable energy production, fermented functional foods, and new microbial enzymes and directed evolution of enzymes.
